(old) Information for Biology classes at the College Champittet, Pully-Lausanne

9th through 12th grade students learn about the scientific method and critical thinking in the context of their biology coursework

This wiki will provide a space for students to not only obtain useful information for their biology studies, but to contribute their own pages, perhaps with experimental results for their teacher or useful tips for their classmates.

Medauroid extradentata

Sticksie was actually last year's 9th grade class mascot, born Dec. 2010, and she and Faysie have made a couple of visits with the students since Fall 2011.

In the photo, Faysie is on the leg of the most mature stickbug, Sophie, one of the original bugs (from the BIOPROF's daughter's friend).

Faysie was special because she had a leg break off, after her first or second moult, and it regenerated over the subsequent two moults!

Big News (May 2012) ! All 6 stickbugs are now moved into the Payot building, under the care of Mme Irene Kelliny and her students!

Biology: the study of life![]

The 9th and 10th grade students' Biology studies are based on an IGCSE program, and are meant to help the students move forward to ultimately obtain their International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma.

11th and 12th graders have a very full curriculum at Standard and Higher Level IB Biology, with laboratory experimentation and reports worth about a quarter of their final marks.

Looking forward to seeing what these students (and whoever lands here!) will do with these pages!!
